Old Ladys

This is one of five Old Lady larvae found under Ivy whilst clearing some off our front fence a couple of days ago. A good tip for finding these is if you have a decent amount of ivy on a vertical surface put a sheet under it overnight and see if you have the frass dropped onto it in the morning. At this time of the year when they are near full grown the frass lumps are 3mm or so across.
